Here's the question again :

Now, here's what the question actually looks like:

As the only individual of the room who knows French among all, Shane Yang, the newly hired security guard who is friendly with the staff of the hotel, is conscious that the others want to know what happened.

Notice the difference? There's an extra sentence in the 'empty' space of the passage. Without highlighting the whole passage it's easy to miss that.

I guess that apart from the 'highlight' part, the other confusing section is the definition of '0'. According to the list, 0 can be defined as 'Everything and Nothing'. I played around a little with the words and to find the answer, you have to read it this way: 'Everything and Nothing' means 0, while 'Everything' and 'Nothing' means 0 too. By the way 0 is zero.
